Last updated: 12 January 2026

Falorin Journal is an independent editorial publication focused on everyday nutrition practices and weight awareness. The publication is not affiliated with any commercial, governmental, or institutional body. This Privacy Policy describes how Falorin Journal collects, uses, and safeguards information when you visit our website at falorin.info.

By using this website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the practices described below. If you do not agree with any aspect of this policy, we ask that you refrain from using the site. We may update this policy from time to time; the date of the most recent revision appears at the top of this page.

This policy applies solely to information collected through this website and does not extend to information gathered through offline channels, other publications, or third-party services that may be linked from our pages.

01

Information We Collect

Falorin Journal collects information in two principal ways: information you provide directly, and information gathered automatically as you navigate the site.

Information You Provide Directly

When you submit our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message content you enter. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and is not shared with third parties for commercial purposes. We retain contact form submissions for a period of twelve months, after which they are deleted from our systems.

We do not operate a newsletter, membership programme, or any subscription service. We do not collect payment information. We do not ask for date of birth, identity documents, or any sensitive personal details.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, certain technical data is recorded automatically by our hosting infrastructure. This includes your IP address, the browser type and version you are using, the pages you visit and the time spent on each, referring URLs, and your device type (desktop, tablet, or mobile). This data is aggregated and used only for the purpose of understanding how the site is used in order to improve our editorial presentation.

We also use cookies and similar tracking technologies to recognise returning visitors and to understand which content resonates most with our audience. For a detailed account of how we use cookies, please refer to our Cookie Policy.

02

How We Use Your Information

Information collected through Falorin Journal is used for the following purposes, and no others:

  • Responding to enquiries. Contact form submissions are used exclusively to respond to the sender. We do not use contact information for unsolicited outreach.
  • Site performance and analytics. Automatically collected data helps us understand how the site performs across different devices and locations, enabling us to improve load times and editorial layout.
  • Editorial improvement. Aggregated page-view data informs decisions about which topics to cover in future articles, which sections of the site are most visited, and how readers navigate our content.
  • Legal compliance. We may retain or disclose information when required to do so by applicable law, regulation, or court order.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to any third party. We do not use personal information for behavioural advertising, re-targeting, or profiling. We do not share data with advertisers or commercial partners.

03

Third-Party Services

Our website loads resources from several third-party providers in order to function correctly and to present content effectively. These include:

Google Fonts & Fontshare

Typeface files are served from Google Fonts and Fontshare CDN infrastructure. Your IP address may be recorded by these providers. Their respective privacy policies govern this data.

Google Maps

Our contact page embeds a Google Maps frame to display our editorial office location. Loading this frame may cause Google to record your IP address and browser information under their own privacy policy.

CDN Libraries

JavaScript and CSS libraries (including jQuery, Swiper, AOS, GSAP, and others) are loaded from jsDelivr, cdnjs, and unpkg CDN services. These providers may collect standard server-access logs.

Hosting Infrastructure

Our hosting provider collects standard server logs including IP addresses, request timestamps, and HTTP status codes. These logs are retained according to the provider's own data retention schedule.

Falorin Journal does not control the data collection practices of these third-party providers. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies if you have concerns about how they handle information transmitted when our site loads their resources.

04

Data Retention & Security

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected. Contact form submissions are kept for twelve months. Automatically collected server logs are retained for a period consistent with our hosting provider's standard practices, typically between thirty and ninety days.

We take reasonable steps to protect information submitted to us against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. Our site is served over HTTPS, and access to backend systems is restricted to authorised personnel. However, no transmission of information over the internet is entirely secure, and we cannot warrant the absolute security of any data you transmit to us.

In the event of a data incident that is likely to result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority and, where required, affected individuals within the timeframes stipulated by applicable data protection legislation.

05

Your Rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights in relation to personal data we hold about you:

  • Right of access. You may request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification. You may ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Right to erasure. You may ask us to delete personal data we hold about you, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Right to restrict processing. You may ask us to pause how we use your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to data portability. You may ask us to provide your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object. You may object to our processing of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interests as our lawful basis.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond to verified requests within thirty days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe your data has been handled in a way that does not comply with applicable law.
